Diaphragm valves are controlled by a single-acting diaphragm pneumomotor, which forms the control part of the valves, and its return movement is ensured by a spring. The control part of the valve is connected by means of a thread to the closing part, consisting of a body with a seat, a valve and a stuffing box, which can be tightened with a threaded nut. By introducing control compressed air into the space above the pneumomotor membrane, the valve is reset from its basic position.
Diaphragm valves are mainly used to control steam, hot or cold water in technological processes, e.g. in the rubber industry.
